Moffitt Cancer Center receives 100 percent of all Miles for Moffitt registration fees and donations, which goes directly to research. We thank our generous sponsors, who underwrite all the expenses associated with the race to make this possible.

Does the money raised stay here in our community?

Yes, 100 percent of all registration fees and donations benefits research at Moffitt Cancer Center. For more information on where your funds go, please click here. The funds raised through Miles for Moffitt are critical to accelerating the research that leads to improved treatments, clinical trials and therapies that benefit patients at Moffitt, along with so many other patients regardless of where they are treated. Miles for Moffitt not only benefits those in Florida and at Moffitt, but patients around the world.

Will my donation be tax-deductible? Will donors receive documentation of their contribution?

Miles for Moffitt is organized by the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible. Donors will automatically receive a thank you letter and tax receipt via email if the contribution is made online. Supporters who make a check donation will receive a letter in the mail shortly after the Miles for Moffitt team receives the contribution. Please note that registration fees are NOT tax‑deductible, as participants are receiving a good/service in exchange (race day T-shirt, etc.).

What do I do with cash and checks that I have collected?

Checks should be made out to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation. Be sure to include the name of the event and the participants name on the check so that your donation will be recorded correctly. The donor will receive a letter documenting the tax-deductible contribution.
